The original story was conceived by J.T. Brian at the age of 11, inspired by his own adoption journey. What began as a non-fiction autobiographical sketch soon evolved into a fictional thriller. Despite resistance from his family, his early work found its way into a local publication, igniting his passion for storytelling.
In 1992, J.T. Brian completed a manuscript titled KORIN. The manuscript, however, sat untouched for five years, until a fateful meeting changed everything.
While managing an investigative firm, J.T. hired D.F. Miller, a skilled writer with a Master’s degree in English. Upon discovering the manuscript on J.T.’s desk, Miller was captivated. After reading it in a matter of days, he recognized its potential and proposed they collaborate to elevate the novel to new heights.
Over the next 26 years, Brian and Miller meticulously refined the story. What began as a personal tale of adoption grew into a complex narrative exploring secrets, power, and the dark underbelly of a seemingly normal street.
In 2023, after 60 years of development, D.F. Miller urged J.T. with a simple question: “If not now, when?” This push led to the final steps toward publication.
